In this workshop Marty will teach you how to tie trout flies from his new book, Trout Flies, a Lesson in Fly Design. If you want to learn how to create flies to mimic the hatches you see on your local waters, this is the workshop for you. The objective is to teach you more than just the steps to tie the fly. Instruction on insect identification and how to make a proper presentation will bring a new perspective to this fly tying experience. If you know how to whip finish a fly, you will be able to keep up. Marty understands fly tying is not easy, no need to be intimidated. His fly tying classes have a fun and positive learning environment. So, if you tie flies and live for the tug, you won’t want to miss this opportunity.
Marty Howard has been active in the fly fishing industry for over forty years. You could easily say he has had a lifelong passion for teaching the art of fly fishing.
