This workshop is designed for the beginning fly tyer. In fact for those who have never tied a fly but would like to learn. All the basic foundational techniques will be covered allowing the beginner to embark on a lifetime of fly tying. To learn the techniques you will be tying fly patterns affective to our local wasters including the Wooly Bugger, San Juan Worm, Zebra midge, Adams and others. Discussions will include an introduction to entomology and how, when and where to fish these patterns. These patterns are all well suited to the eastern Idaho region. This is an all day workshop and includes lunch. Materials, tools, and lamps will be provided. If you have tools and a vise please bring them.
Jeff Armstrong has been tying flies for 40 years. He has been the coordinator and associate instructor for the Snake River Cutthroats Beginning Fly Fishing Class for 15 years
